A sewing project...

It was my son's birthday on the 3rd of January and I though it would be great to make him a sleeveless jacket. The only fabric I had at hand was the needle felt, which you can find in the Woolly Gathering shop. A lot of people have been looking at it, loving the colour, but didn't really know how to use it. Well, even though I was dubious to start with (It is needle-felted after all!) I'm delighted with the result! So is he by the way ;)!

Once I had this one finished my daughter stated that she would like one, too. But with flowers rather than birds... Well I'm still working on it, but I thought I put some pictures up for you to see and get inspired :).
This time I wanted to do it properly and follow a pattern (I'm not very good at that...) So I dug one out, cut out the shapes and decided I would try the light needle-felt for lining, as it is so soft and would add that extra layer of warmth. Again I wasn't sure, if it would work, but it turned out wonderful! Apart from the fact that I sewed the pockets on the wrong way around... well, can't get it all right.... but I remedied that :) Now here we go, she can't wait until it is finished... neither can I!
